Year 1 Phase 5a Flashcards
The Year 1 Phase 5a pack teaches your child new ways to write the sounds they learnt during Phase 3 e.g. ai in rain (Phase 3) and ay in play (Phase 5). The pack contains both decodable words and nonsense words made up of the Phase 5a sounds so that your child can apply their phonics knowledge to practice blending and reading. The pack also contains tricky word cards and support cards to show how to introduce these words to your child.
 
Year 1 Phase 5b Flashcards
The Year 1 Phase 5b pack introduces the alternative pronunciations e.g. g sounds different in got and gem. The pack includes word cards made up of alternative pronunciations with a guide along the bottom to help your child to test different pronunciations in order to read the word correctly. The pack also contains the phase 5 high frequency words - if your child is able to read these words by sight it will help them to read more fluently.
